| Since the age of fourteen when I was given a simple set of pastels as a birthday present, pastel has been the medium I return to again and again. Pastels are unique in that I can use them both to draw and paint. I incorporate accident, pentimento and fanciful grids which appear and disappear by alluding to a mysterious sense of space. Much of the work has been inspired by landscape, and I often return to the Charles River as it runs through the cities and towns where I live. |
